Palmer Trinity School Seniors Among Semifinalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program

Four seniors at Palmer Trinity School (PTS) are among the 16,000 semifinalists from around the country who will participate in the 67th annual National Merit® Scholarship Program. The program honors individual students who have shown exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. The PTS semifinalists are Ava-Riley Miles, Sara Ramos, Alexandra Calvo and Tess Anderson.

“We are very proud of our four seniors for achieving this outstanding academic recognition and we wish them the best as the competition continues,” states Patrick H.F. Roberts, Head of School.

According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®), academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 scholarships worth nearly $30 million that will be awarded next spring. About 95 percent of semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and approximately half of those will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the title of Merit Scholar®.

NMSC, a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance, was established in 1955. Scholarships are underwritten by NMSC and approximately 400 business organizations and higher education institutions that share NMSC’s goals of honoring the nation’s scholastic champions and encouraging the pursuit of academic excellence.
