Fowler White Burnett is pleased to announce that Intellectual Property Shareholder, Joseph R. Englander, has been appointed to the International Trademark Association (INTA) “Famous and Well-Known Marks” Committee for a 2 year term commencing January 1, 2022.
The “Famous and Well-Known Marks” Committee develops and advocates the Association’s policy regarding the balanced protection of famous and well-known marks. The committee monitors developments in treaties, cases, legislation, and regulation in various jurisdictions, complete analyses, and propose policy recommendations to the Board. Work includes report and submission writing, and advocacy in conjunction with relevant INTA committees and staff.
Englander handles a broad range of intellectual property matters, including the prosecution of United States and international patents, trademarks and copyrights, the negotiation and enforcement of intellectual property transactions and licensing agreements and the representation of corporations and individuals in intellectual property disputes and related corporate matters. He is experienced in trials before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
He has extensive experience in the food industry and understands the issues that his food and agricultural business clients face. He served for five years as an administrator in the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). Englander helps clients in the hemp, food and beverage industries navigate and comply with federal and state regulatory programs.
