Harford County Association of REALTORS Welcomes New President and Board of Directors

The Harford County Association of REALTORS® hosted its annual meeting, installation, and awards ceremony 

The Harford County Association of REALTORS® (HarCAR) recently hosted its annual meeting and installation of its new president and board. The meeting also included its 2021 annual awards ceremony.

The event was held at Mountain Branch Golf Club on Tuesday, Sept. 14. Guests included HarCAR leadership, members, Harford County elected officials, the Maryland REALTORS® president and others attended the celebration.

Heather Schafer Adkins was installed as HarCAR’s president and will serve a one-year term from 2021-2022. Chris Drewer, Linda Rich, Jackie Barbieri, Diane Hessenauer, Sandra Hopkins, Deb Hutson, Julie King-Schulz, Mike Maxwell, Simon Nwaigwe, Justin Sapp, Paula Diggs Smith, Donna Spare and Margie Sturgill will serve as the 2021-2022 Board of Directors.

“As an association, we truly could not ask for better leadership from our REALTOR® members,” said Chris Drewer, former HarCARpresident. “We are so excited to have Heather as our new president. She is a great leader who dedicates so much to our association. She has chaired and served on numerous HarCARcommittees, and we are thrilled to see her take this next step as the leader of the association.”

Prior to the installation, HarCAR recognized its annual awards recipients. The 2021 awards and recipients were as follows:

  • The President’s Award honors a member who continually and actively supports the association in its activities and programs.

Winner: George B. Hall of Coldwell Banker Realty. 

  • The Affiliate of the Year Award honors a member who prominently supports the association, its membership, and the Harford County community.

Winner: Justin Sapp of Certified Property Inspection.  

  • The REmarkable REALTOR® of the Year honors the REALTOR® who has made a significant contribution to the association during the past year.

Winner: Mike Maxwell of Keller Williams Gateway 

  • The REALTOR® Community Service Award honors the REALTOR® member who gives their time to assist in the community.

Winner: Bob Rich of Exit Preferred Realty 

  • The Life Achievement Award honors a REALTOR® who has demonstrated extraordinary and outstanding leadership and exemplifies the model member through real estate service to the community, and the local, state and national associations during the many years of their career.

Winner: Marianne Ferguson of Coldwell Banker Realty 

  • The REALTOR® of the Year Award honors a REALTOR® who exemplifies the model member through real estate service to the community and the local, state and national associations.

Winner: RoseAnn Spalt of Coldwell Banker Realty 

Bob Rich, Marianne Ferguson and RoseAnn Spalt were presented proclamations/citations from the Maryland General Assembly, the Harford County Council, and the Harford County Executive’s office.

“It was great to come together and recognize the REALTOR® members who dedicate their time to help make Harford County the amazing community that it is,” said Patrick Vincenti, President of the Harford County Council. “Whether it’s through volunteering or advocating for property rights, our REALTORS®help strengthen our community in numerous ways.”
