WBUR, Boston Globe, WCVB and UMass Boston to Host Boston Mayoral Debate September 9, 2021

Debate will be hosted live at CitySpace at the Lavine Broadcast Center

Boston mayoral candidates John Barros, Andrea Campbell, Annissa Essaibi George, Kim Janey and Michelle Wu have agreed to participate in a debate at WBUR CitySpace on Thursday, September 9 at 7:00pm. WBUR’s Radio Boston host Tiziana Dearing and Boston Globe columnist Adrian Walker will moderate. Audiences can tune into the debate through a livestream via CitySpace. The debate will also be broadcast on WBUR and streamed by the partners on their websites.

“It’s hard to imagine a more important time to hear the major mayoral candidates in Boston debate the issues,” Dearing said. “This race makes history in so many ways. I’m excited to engage with the candidates on the issues and all of the challenges important to Boston’s voters.”

Walker added, “I’m thrilled to participate in a debate in this truly historic election. I know Bostonians are eager to hear where these candidates hope to lead the city.”

The debate is co-sponsored by WBUR, the Boston Globe, WCVB Channel 5 and the John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at UMass Boston.
