Chopt Creative Salad Company to Open First South Jersey Location at Marlton Square

Bayer Properties announces addition of new quick-serve restaurant

Bayer Properties’ mid-Atlantic team continues pressing forward on the reimagination of Marlton Square in Evesham Township, New Jersey, announcing today the addition of Chopt Creative Salad Co. The gourmet salad chain offering seasonal and build-your-own salads is expected to open at the center in late 2021, marking the first location in the South Jersey area.

“Since taking over leasing and property management last summer, our team has been committed to identifying trends and concepts that will best resonate with consumers at Marlton Square. As health and wellness remains top-of-mind, we are confident Chopt, and the recently announced Playa Bowls, will be well-received by our community,” said Nikki Columbo, SVP of National Accounts for Bayer. “We look forward to delivering on our promise and transforming Marlton Square into a thriving, community-forward destination.”

For 18 years, Chopt has dreamt up the most delicious salads imaginable. Founded in New York City, the creative salad company continues to expand its footprint, with 65 operating locations throughout New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.

Chopt offers an extensive menu of seasonal core salads, as well as build-your-own options, with 18 made-from-scratch dressings, ranging from avocado-based Mexican Goddess to Basil Mint Vinaigrette. Every 60 days, Chopt rotates a selection of three seasonal salads, all of which are inspired by new travel destinations. The company also partners with local and regional businesses to add exclusive offerings to each location. In addition to salads, Chopt offers a selection of wraps and warm grain bowls, with all ingredients made fresh daily.

In April, Bayer Properties announced Playa Bowls, an acai and pitaya bowls shop, will join the center this fall, signifying the first of many property-wide additions and capital enhancements planned for the 87,000-square-foot lifestyle center. In addition to bringing new retail and restaurant concepts to Marlton Square, the mid-Atlantic team of the Birmingham-based commercial real estate firm plans to refresh the overall aesthetic of the shopping center through forthcoming property changes.

Situated off Route 70 and Route 73, Marlton Square sits within the affluent Evesham Township of Burlington County. The lifestyle center offers a lineup of notable retailers and restaurants, including Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, Turning Point and Bluemercury. Bayer was awarded leasing and property management duties for the center in July 2020, marking its expansion into New Jersey.
