Elevator and Escalator Division Takes on New Project in Boston’s Seaport Neighborhood At 400 Summer Street

CYPRESS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Elevator and Escalator Division of Mitsubishi Electric US, headquartered in Cypress, California, is pleased to announce its expansion in Greater Boston. Due to growth in the area and new projects with WS Development in the Seaport neighborhood, the Elevator and Escalator Division is growing its Boston footprint and has also moved offices to Woburn, Massachusetts to better serve customers.

Mitsubishi Electric was recently selected by WS Development, one of the largest privately-owned retail development firms in the country, to install elevator systems in its latest Boston Seaport project at 400 Summer Street. The 625,000-square-foot building will be home to Foundation Medicine, which will occupy 580,000 square feet office and lab space and will also host 30,000-square feet of neighborhood retail. The project is currently under construction, with occupancy expected in 2023.
