Local technology startup, CommunicationsMatch™, has partnered with the nation’s largest communications association – the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) – to launch the association’s new Find a Firm tool. The resource helps companies find PR agencies and consultants, as well as shortlist and hire with confidence.
“Companies can find firms and professionals at a national level or near them by zip code, and review profiles by expertise and client experience to find those that match their needs,” said Simon Erskine Locke, founder & CEO of CommunicationsMatch. “We have offices in New York, but at our heart we are a Hudson Valley company, so helping clients find and hire talented agencies and professionals in this area is really important to us.”
A former head of communications at large global brands, British transplant, Locke traded a senior corporate communications role for the personal challenge of building CommunicationsMatch, having been inspired by other Hudson Valley-based technology companies, including ETSY.
“I first moved to the area in the 1990s, spent a decade in Asia, and then bought a house and moved here full-time in 2005,” added Locke. “The Hudson Valley has a pool of talented professionals, and as one of the most beautiful places in the world, it’s a great place to find the work-life balance required when running the marathon of building a business.”
With 6,000 agencies and professionals already on the CommunicationsMatch platform and the new national partnership with PRSA, Locke is optimistic about the path forward in a post-COVID-19 world.
“Business is being done virtually. That’s not going to change, so companies are looking for virtual tools that help them find the resources they need to grow,” said Locke. “That’s what we have built.
