Interview with Mario Medina, CEO of drvn

Born to immigrant parents in the Dominican Republic and the youngest of five children, Mario Medina grew up with a loving family. Ironically, his family also had strong entrepreneurial tendencies that heavily influenced him at a young age and established his foundation for building a career and family of his own.

During his father’s pursuit of the American Dream, Mario and his family came to the United States, where they lived in Miami, New York, New Jersey and Texas. After earning his BA and MBA from Nova Southeastern University, Mario started several telecommunications companies to shake up the industry.

Today, Mario is a veteran of both the transportation and telecom industries. He is the former president of DGTec – one of the largest telecoms in the Dominican Republic – and he ran all of the Latin America operations at the office products division of Canon Latin America. He is also the CEO of drvn, a tech-forward professional chauffeur service that offers VIP services for individuals, groups, corporations, events and more.

drvn is a private ground transportation and logistics company, with a global network of chauffeurs and private security capabilities. Basically? We specialize in executive transportation – less stuffy than “black car service”, or “private chauffeur service” but that’s what it is. Ironically, the ‘stuffy’ is becoming a preferred alternative travel method to air and rideshare. Convenience (leave when you want), and health safety (social distanced and sanitized) are now basic and essential factors when traveling today.
