DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Angela Agrusa, managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles offices, was named to The American Lawyer’s 2022 Trailblazers: West list honoring a select group of attorneys based in the West who have “moved the needle in the legal industry.”
The publication highlighted Agrusa’s recent representation of G6 Hospitality, which owns, operates and franchises more than 1,400 hotels across North America and is responsible for the Motel 6 brand, in lawsuits seeking to hold it civilly liable for the alleged use of its hotel rooms by human traffickers. A DLA Piper team led by Agrusa has handled these cases nationwide for G6, helping it reach peaceful resolutions, avoid the re-victimization of survivors and direct litigation resources to initiatives supporting survivors and victim advocacy. Agrusa and her team have also played a key role in helping shape policies and practices around human trafficking in the hospitality industry – models that are being emulated by others in the industry.
Agrusa, who also serves as co-chair of DLA Piper’s commercial litigation group, defends clients in a wide variety of complex disputes with hundreds of millions of dollars at stake, including brand and individual reputation defense, business torts, consumer fraud, competitor false advertising and unfair competition. She has been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Top 100 Lawyers list, Women of Influence list and Top Litigator and Trial Attorneys list, among other recognitions.
